We know that swimming is a great sport for rehabilitation. However, it can be ineffective or unsafe for someone living with a disability or injury. Jersey DIPS provides the accessibility needed for members only to improve their mobility and strength.
Members will be able to pre-book and pay online via this 'Book a Session' page, or in-house at Mont a L'abbe (during Jersey DIPS sessions) using our IPAD (kindly donated by Sure Jersey) when we reopen.
We have access to a warm therapy pool at Mont a L'abbe School. We offer affordable sessions for small group therapy sessions. Our aim is to encourage members to teach themselves or by having a friend, family member or support worker to assist in becoming independent in the water and help gain confidence.
Who can become a member?
We are currently only able to provide the supportive swimming to adults (over 18's years of age) with a mobility, learning, social, behavioural difficulties, visual and hearing impairments. Please not that we are not able to support in members that require a harness, however we are planning to offer this in due course.
To use our facility, a person must join the charity by submiting out application form, countersigned by a medical professional.
Payment of an annual fee (£25) and admission charge (£3) for each session is also necessary.
Please click here to submit application.
We use fully qualified lifeguards (ATSPRA qualified), they supervise the pool sessions to ensure safety. Our volunteers are trained in first aid and are on hand in case of injury or emergency.
